News

 

WELCOME, The Friends welcomed Amy Wisehart the recently hired Library Director at our January meeting.  We also approved the Libraries Funds Request for 2017 at the January meeting.  The $6500 request was broken down as follows: $3950 for youth programs, $1000 for books on CD Purchases and $1550 for  Adult Programming.  As always your generous support maked this level of funding possible each year and with  good turnout at our scheduled book sales we hope to be able to do more.

 

FRIENDS FUNDRAISER  During the month of January 2017,  for each Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag with the BLUE "Good Karma" message sold at the Hannaford store located at  225 High Street, Suite 1, Ellsworth ME,  The Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library will receive $1!  THE SALES HAVE BEEN TALLIED, $91 WAS RAISED.  Thank You

 

BOOK SALES   If you need a book and cannot wait till the next sale, please check out our book sale rack next to the circulation desk, a larger rack means an expanded selection of books are available for purchase whenever the library is open, books at the low price of $1.00 or less.   Currently the next scheduled book sale is Saturday March 11th, 2017 from9AM-1PM on the Main Floor of the Library.  Donations of books in good condition are always welcome; please just leave them at the Library during normal hours.

LIBRARY COOKBOOK  The New Library cookbook are for sale at the Library for $5.   Sale of the cookbook will benefit the Building expansion Fund. Contribute toward a good cause, acquire a good cookbook at a reasonable price, and try some new foods using recipes by the staff and the community of the Ellsworth Public Library.

 

 

 FRIEND'S LOGO TOTES FOR SALE We just replenished our supply of the Blue totes and they are still $10, so please purchase one for yourself and remember they do make wonderful gifts., totes are for sale at the Circulation desk during normal Library hours.

The Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library are community members working on behalf of the library to raise funds and increase community involvement in the library.

 

Volunteer

Volunteers always have a splendid time at the book sale. Thank You to all who participated in these events because through your participation we raise funding for the many programs not funded by the city.  If you can volunteer but were not called please leave a name and phone number at the circulation desk or get it touch with Melanie Zador.

The Summer programming is being booked  now that we have made the 2017 funding available to the library.  New offerings will be posted in our Newsletter and on the Library web-site/Facebook Page.  Please remember this quality programming is only available and free because your donations made it happen.  In case of inclement weather Library closures will be posted on their Web-site and Facebook page.
