Libraries Are Old Friends!
Sometimes we take them for granted. yet a public library provides one of the best continuing sources of learning throughout a person's lifetime. The Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library help increase and extend the libraries services to everyone.
The Friends act as a liaison between the library and the community. They inform the library of the needs of the community and the community of the needs of the library.
The Friends promote financial assistance to the library by purchasing for the library special items which are of great benefit but cannot be purchased from the library budget. The Friends raise funds through various means including, the collection of dues, several book sales each year and other fundraising events.
The Friends sponsor programs which enhance the cultural awareness of the community as well as focus attention on the library. The most visible program which is dependent on Friend's funding is the Childrens Department series called "Summertime Delights", though geared to younger patrons is a hit with all ages.
So please join the Friends of the
Ellsworth Public Library. Your public library needs and deserves all the
Friends it can get!
