Hancock County Offices

The land known today as Hancock County once included Penobscot County until 1816, and Waldo County was also formed out of Hancock County in 1827.

For information and copies of documents from 1790 to the present, you can contact or visit the Hancock County Registry of Deeds and the Registry of Probate. These offices are located in the Court House building at 60 State Street, just a short walk from the Ellsworth Public Library.
