Services
offered in our District office:
The Hancock County Soil & Water
Conservation District offers many services to the public. In addition to
technical assistance for erosion control and water quality projects we have a
number of services available in our Ellsworth office. Some of the in-office
services offered are:

Color aerial photos
(appointment needed for this service)

Dissolved oxygen meters to
lend out to trained volunteers

Medium intensity soil surveys and soil maps for soil scientists, site
evaluators, and landowners
- Technical assistance for soil erosion prevention and abatement
- Technical assistance for forming road associations and gravel road
maintenance
Soil test kits for farmers and gardeners
Forestry information including regulations, lists of foresters, and
timber sales agreements
Bulb, tree, and shrub sales for conservation plantings, trout sales for
stocking private ponds, composters, and rain barrels for water conservation
Technical assistance for gardeners
Technical assistance for farmers and agricultural concerns
Technical assistance for pond construction and maintenance
- Pamphlets on general conservation, including plants, pesticides,
erosion, education, pollution and wildlife

All programs and services of the Hancock County Soil & Water
