Making Conservation Work For You Since 1963.

Our mission:

The Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District provides local conservation leadership, teaches the value of natural resources, encourages conservation efforts, and helps to  plan and implement voluntary programs. Each District program is different and unique to the area that it services, because the programs are developed by local people to solve local problems.

What's New:

District Forester Starts E-Newsletter for Downeast Woodland Owners

Steve MacDonald, with the Maine Forest Service, has created an electronic newsletter that he emails out every few months to woodland owners in his district.  The newsletter  includes announcements for upcoming workshops and articles that woodland owners may find helpful or of interest pertaining to managing their woodland.  If you are interested in  receiving the newsletter please send Steve an email requesting he add you to his contact list: stephen.macdonald@maine.gov
